This is a unique, collaborative work showcasing new work from legendary couturier Mr Pearl, Drag Diva Joey Arias, vocal supremo Breezy Lee and with visceral choreography from Alex Rigg (UK) and Laura Victoria Ward (US) alongside unique costume from Oceanallover.
Splitting My Sides is a new work from our Ecdysis series that explores the idea of stepping out of your old skin in order to grow. Our project highlights the need to preserve the unique ecology of reptiles and specifically those reptiles that can be found in the wild in the regions where the work is being presented. Our show is made up of several short chapters, each section speaking to one reptile Species. The animals are represented through:
- Original music written especially for the work, including a collaboration between Joey Arias and Breezy Lee who will perform live as part of the show.
- Original choreography devised as a collaboration between New York dancer Laura Victoria Ward and Scottish artist Alex Rigg.
- A series of specially commissioned costumes from Mr Pearl that work in conjunction with the costume of Oceanallover in a series of layers
