An Arm and a Leg title image

– World Premiere

Inspired by Yasunari Kawabata.
Conceived by Calla Videt, Written and devised by the Company.
Directed by Calla Videt.
Choreographed by Ricky Kuperman.

Inspired by Yasunari Kawabata's 'One Arm', 'An Arm and A Leg' is an devised work which combines dance and theater and begins with a set of encounters in which a woman decides to give parts of herself—her arm, her phone number, her leg, her identity—to a stranger, a man. This incites a search for things given, received, and lost. The project deals with themes of cultural translation, personal agency, sexuality, and self-sacrifice through text, movement, and image.
